1st members night of the year held at the Trust and has a 40th Anniversary feel. There is a DVD presentation put together by Volunteer Monica Johnson with clips from member’s nights over the past ten years. Quiz is based on dates and events that have happened over the years, and winners were long time member’s Thelma and John Cobbold.

The evening flying display was based on new members of the team, with all our new falconers providing the commentaries for some of the younger members of our flying team. Presentation of volunteer of the year was made to retired pilot John Scott, whose wife and family joined in the celebrations. Guest speakers for the evening included: wildlife cameraman Phillip Lovell, vet John Chitty and falconer Jim chick , who entertained the audience with stories of past times at the Conservancy.

Falconer Jane Robertson and Trust supporter Anthony Rhodes travel to Holland to collect a pair of Steller’s Sea Eagles. These are a pair of birds that have been confiscated by Dutch authorities and rehomed by EAZA. After their journey they are given a health check by vet John Chitty with blood samples being taken to be tested, before being placed into a quarantine aviary. |

40 guests attend a 40th Anniversary talk by Ashley Smith in our study centre. The talk with slides covers the opening of the Conservancy from its early days as a farm, to its current involvement in conservation and rehabilitation projects around the world. The event proves to be a sell out success and a second date is opened for Saturday 19th August. |
