Work started on the
improvements to the car park. Maurice, the tree surgeon,
set to work cutting down the huge Leylandii trees that
surrounded the car park, and immediately light streamed
in all over the park. Work also started on creating
a new hard standing car park; the digger arrived to
take off the top surface and, later in the month, hard
core was laid on top, to provide all weather parking
facilities.

festooned with balloons and prepared for a grand
30th anniversarty party |
The Corporate Room was booked for an evening anniversary
party. There was great excitement amongst the staff when
one of the guests turned out to be Arsenal footballer
Theo Walcott. He was a little difficult to pick out, due
to the fact that it was fancy dress, and he was wearing
70's clothes and an afro wig. |
| All through the
month work carried on all around the grounds. Some aviaries
were knocked down and new ones built, young birds were
trained and general maintenance work went on around the
grounds.
